Byron & Harold The Protocol Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River 2022

Margaret River Cabernet has established itself as not just one of this country’s great red wine styles, but as a world star. The colour here is an opaque maroon, still youthful of course, with a nose of cassis, florals, chocolate, blackcurrants, spices, beef stock and coffee beans. There is good integration of oak here. The wine exhibits a touch of the ethereal, which is most appealing. Good focus, decent length and sleek tannins, we can expect this to continue to improve over the next eight to ten years.
