Cannibal Creek Gippsland Reserve Chardonnay 2023

Share

I have a soft spot for Gippsland Chardonnay, particularly when it’s as good as this. It’s the kind of wine that you just want to keep drinking as it delivers everything in spades. The aromas are intense – grapefruit, white flowers, salt, apricot, cream – showing ripeness and judicious use of oak. The flavours linger and are heightened by the oily, energetic and full-flavoured palate. The Reserve Chardonnay is always a cracker right on release but it can also cellar for at least 5-8 years more – if you can wait that long. I recommend it with something salty like pan-fried fish or something creamy and pasta based.
