Plum and blackberry sit within an attractive frame of white pepper spice to start, followed by subtle charred meat and a glimmer of sweet clove. It’s very likeable from the outset thanks to that vibrant fruit and spice mix. The palate is cooling and lifted, with plum and blackberry again melding nicely with white pepper and clove. Fine, lacy tannins provide ample structure, bringing this to a poised, medium-length finish. I like this for its cool-climate, medium-bodied feel—it’s redolent of an entry-level St Joseph or similar. Great value here.
