Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Share

Margaret River’s number one red variety is looking mighty at ease in the glass, especially so after a quick swish of air to help loosen it up. Structure is tight and there is clear intent that this will be a wine to age further – which it undoubtedly will – but there is also much to be enjoyed right now. The ’21 is sweet fruited with upfront appeal in black fruits, earth, briar, acacia, jalapeño and baking spices. The back palate is where the leafy herbals and crushed herbs dwell. Tannins, while firm are nicely controlled, coiled and waiting. In the meantime, there is much to enjoy.
