A blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – a Bordeaux-inspired blend by any other name – and living large. Seven years old and plush, ripe and seemingly bigger bodied than it probably is, there’s a lot happening here. Oak is apparent, smoky and cedary, tied to a solid base of black fruits and a world of spice, chocolate, liquorice and solid tannins, no doubt thanks to the role of Petit Verdot. Takes a light savoury turn which adds to the level of complexity on show before finishing with an oak-led cigar box oomph.
