Cape Mentelle Icon Chardonnay 2021

Share

The new HH Icon series highlights the best wines from any particular vintage, from a selection of individual barrels. The ’21 vintage has been recognised as a difficult one, wet and cool. The conditions are reflected in a more considered wine, fine-edged and restrained. Ripe lemon and white stone fruits with bosc pear bring cool summery aromas and flavours. Clean fruit to the fore, capturing an attractive purity. The palate arrives with plenty of verve and energy. Matured in French oak for 10 months, it brings with it some impressive length with a gentle nutty feature before finishing with a chalky, pithiness.
