Angullong Crossing Reserve Harriet 2019

A blend of the best parcels of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Montepulciano go into this heady Italian drop, a blend of mum’s favourites, so they say. The wine unfurls from the glass with macerated strawberries, pomegranate and blood plums with hints of dried sage, powdered nutmeg and black tea leaves. The wine is a harmonious blend of tart and sweet red berries from the Montepulciano and savoury herbs and driving acid and tannins from the Sangiovese. The combined 24 months in French puncheons and bottle ensure the wine is sewn together. This is an assimilated blend of varieties that will continue to do very well in our warming climate especially with the conscientiousness shown by the Angullong team. A wine of moderate weight made from some truly punchy characters. Drink with a good fatty salami wrapped around crostini.
