A wine to open your eyes – not to mention, tastebuds – to the delights of the Cabernet Franc grape. Grown at Wallcliffe, west of the Margaret River township and close to the Indian Ocean, the warm Mediterranean climate is well-suited to the grape. A challenging wet vintage has given rise to an attractive mix of herbals that work well with the grape’s naturally generous aromatics. Ripe red berries, plum and high rose petal aromatics offer an inviting welcome. The palate, built on a firm base of lovely, fine tannins, is warm in texture and inviting in ripe fruits, rose, baking spices, dried herbs, briar, leaf and twig notes. Wouldn’t say no to some further ageing.
