Off-dry and medium-dry rieslings are making a comeback and not before time. These wines blend biting acidity with measured sweetness to make for a beautiful package, as a pre-dinner treat or for spicy dishes. This is a good option for anyone new to the style with its razor sharp balance and elegant fruits. Pale watery white in colour, it has attractive orchard fruit aromas with some gentle stony complexity. It’s then fine, and light weight, with more citrus fruits and that sweetness tucked in behind a bolt of acidity that makes for a mouthwatering finish. It will come into its own with a spicy Thai fish curry.
