Never heard of the Austrian red grape, Blaufränkisch? You are in for a treat. Together with its Austrian friend, Grüner Veltliner, the grape now calls the Adelaide Hills home and in the cool climate suits it down to the ground. Vibrant purple hues. Equally vibrant blueberry, black cherry aromas with pomegranate, violet and hints of herbals. It’s a fragrant and inviting start to the wine and it doesn’t slow down once it hits the glass. Those blue and red plummy fruits join spice and gentle herbs lighting up the palate with some top summer drinking appeal finishing on a bright black cherry and spice note.
