Catalina Sounds Sound of White Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Share

Some wineries sail under the radar, quietly working away to make the best wines they can to faithfully reflect their home. Catalina Sounds is one of those wineries, with this single vineyard sauvignon blanc coming off their Sounds of White Waihopai Valley Vineyard. It’s quite a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style which has been tweaked to add attractive complexity and lift it above much of the competition.

Pale straw with green tinges, it displays exotic guava, citrus and floral fruits. There is also some nice savoury vanilla and spice coming through from gentle oak treatment. The palate is then quite textural but still underpinned by that trademark juicy Marlborough acidity before a lingering finish.
