UMAMU Estate MacAnn Sparkling 2019

Margaret River fizz is not a style focused on by many of the wineries in the region, but given how well everything else is done here, why not? The colour here is a bright lemon and gold. The nose is a lovely mix of citrus and stonefruit, figs and lemons, with a hint of ginger. A little biscuity, there is richness and length with a really attractive creamy texture and lingering finish. Enjoy it for the next four to five years. One would not suggest that this is the future of Margaret River, given the quality of their more established wines, but it is certainly a welcome sideline.
