Dowie Doole The Reserve Shiraz 2018

Serious stuff here, the stars have aligned with top notch Shiraz from some of the better vineyards in McLaren Vale and a cracking vintage. Opaque purple colour, there is noticeable oak here, but it is of good quality and the integration is proceeding well. There are notes of chocolate, coffee beans, cassis, aniseed, mocha and blackberries. The cassis really comes to the fore on the palate, along with notes of graphite. Fine tannins and excellent length. Twelve to fifteen years.
