Sparkling wines look particularly good on Dredgy. The immediacy of depth is striking: toasted almond, strawberry, redcurrant, sweet almond pastry and Meyer lemon rise from the glass. The interplay of fruit and savoury elements is masterful, creating a complex and deeply appealing perfume. The palate has real spine and shape, combining ripe, sweet fruit with seamlessly integrated autolytic notes. Redcurrant, strawberry and sweet-tangy Meyer lemon mirror the nose, while the prickle of a fine bead adds vim and vigour. Almond and pastry dough sit quietly in the background as a piercing acid line drives rolling waves of seemingly endless length. All class — complex, powerful, refined and long. A brilliant release.
