Dream Bird Margaret River Rocket Science Chardonnay 2023

Share

Margaret River Chardonnay. What else needs to be said? I will say a lot about this wine anyway as it was a delight to drink. The aromas are intense, filling the room and inhabiting your nostrils even when the glass is held at arm’s length. The nose is a captivating mixture of lifted lemon, sweet peach and ripe nectarine, with savoury roundness coming from dried grass and a flinty, minerally edge. There’s a touch of oak but it never dominates. The palate is mellifluous, rich and toasty, still showing its youth and letting the fruit sing. I enjoyed it with some cheese and then a curry and it heightened the whole experience. With a bit more bottle age, I firmly believe this Chardonnay will get even better.
