Esilio Against The Current Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Share

From the Esilio state vineyards in the Mt Lofty Ranges rolling foothills north-east of Adelaide, specifically in the One Tree Hill/Uleybury district, set between the southern Barossa and Adelaide Hills regions. Benefitting from some maritime and gully wind cooling influences, this varietal – it may well have a small dose of Semillon in it as well – has a subtle nasal approach; yes there’s tropical fruit salad and lemongrass, and also some zingy white-pepper like spice, and these fortunately temper the kind of sweetness/acidity trap many Sauvignons fall into. It’s still crisp with a touch of saline with a neatly framed ease to the palate. Pleasing to drink and cleverly achieved.
