Esilio Tit for Tat Sangiovese Rose 2025

Share

Esilio Wines are the work of Harry Mantzarapis on his estate north-east of Adelaide in the rolling hills above the suburb of Munno Para – the vineyard falls between the more recognised regions of the Barossa and the Adelaide Hills , so it sits on its own and carries the appellation on the label of Mt Lofty Ranges. This Rose is immediately attractive, glossy and pale, with light pink rose petal and cut strawberry fragrance, a definite white nectarine note as well. Tasting reveals the same set of flavours cut with a mouthwatering lime juice feel, and there’s something else going on here that adds to the core Sangiovese fruit drive – a tiny 4% addition of white Frontignac, aka Muscat a Petit Grains, which perhaps is the secret to a vibrant palate profile of florals, strawberry and Turkish delightful. It’s perfect with a few ice blocks as well. Summer in a glass
