Gaffy & Neal Merricks North Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay 2021

Share

Merricks North offers a look at the other side of the Gaffy & Neal Chardonnay coin with obvious clean cut and thrust, not to mention purity and precision. Structure is keen, offering the background to bright green apple, citrus, white peach, nectarine, mango skin, almond meal and a splash of kaffir lime spiciness. The defining personality is one of mouth-wateringly good drinking now, but with so much more to offer given time. That delightful acid line is the key. Its enduring persistence elevates the fruit while providing some serious zip and tang. The oak is just so, adding to what is some serious class. It’s quite the charmer.
