Gundog Estate Hunter’s Semillon 2023

Another very fine Semillon from Matt Burton, which is more in the current style of approachable and great drinking from day one, rather than the older examples which needed several years to blossom. A very pale lemon hue here, with fresh, bright notes on the nose. Slightly spicy with citrus touches and florals, this is an aromatic style, approachable and generous, layered and with an attractive, lingering finish driven by good acidity. A shorter-term proposition than some but will still sail through five years.
