Happs Fields of Gold Chardonnay 2021

Share

This is a well-crafted Chardonnay from fruit grown down at Karridale where Erl Happ was a pioneer. It’s off a single vineyard and was wild yeast fermented with a regime of 10 months in 33% new and 67% second fill puncheons. The oak influence is perfectly weighted to the leaner though still flavoursome style. Lemon rind, pear and a cutting minerality with just a faint hint of struck match. It’s an impressive Chardonnay for the price.
