Helen & Joey Estate Gruyere Hill Pinot Noir 2020

Share

It’s the middle of the week and you are looking for a fix of Pinot Noir that does not break the bank. Enter the 2020 Helen & Joey Estate Gruyere Hill Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley. It’s not hugely powerful or going to be long lived but what it does deliver is plenty of proper Pinot character. Bright light cherry in colour, there are subtle and fragrant aromas – dark cherry, sappy rhubarb, baked earth and ground spices with old oak in the background. It is then quite fleshy and juicy with cranberry and spicy flavours well supported by slinky and silky tannins. Earthy notes provide an attractive savoury edge to the finish topping off what is a very well priced Pinot Noir.
