Henschke Green’s Hill Adelaide Hills Riesling 2025

Share

A rebirth of sorts, the 2025 vintage marks the first vintage to be made following the Cudlee Creek bushfires that devastated parts of the Adelaide Hills in 2019. It is fitting that the vineyard overlooks the Lenswood apple orchards, for the scent of apples on this wine is present and quite invigorating. Aromas of apple, stewed apple, acacia, grapefruit and aromatic florals offer an inviting introduction to a deeply concentrated young Riesling. Phenolics are in play offering grip and tension on the palate as flavours embrace the gamut of citrus – lime, lemon, grapefruit – and, yes, cut apple, against background florals. Brings some of that cool climate, juicy, firm Adelaide Hills acidity to the forefront of the wine offering excellent line and length . . . and potential to age. One to consider for the cellar.
