Hewitson Lu Lu Shiraz 2019

Share

This is made with fruit grown at the cooler southern end of the Barossa Valley, abutting the Eden Valley and the Adelaide Hills. The fertile soils and a unique micro-climate make for a unique and more elegant expression of shiraz. Medium garnet purple with a bright rim. Abounds with fragrant dark fruits of black cherry, blood plum and wine gums, tempered by anise and clove spice. A briny earthiness grounds it all. The maturation in older oak brings frisky fruit freshness to the fore as it slips silkily along the medium bodied palate, plumped just enough with those spiced dark fruits and a coda of easy, yet firm tannins. Has the cut through for a wallaby pie in flaky pastry.
