A Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvèdre blend from several vineyards averaging out agewise at 75 years, proportions unspecified on the label but its ruby colour and fragrant aromas tell of a definite Grenache dominance, a cherry danish pastry note perhaps and a shot of Aperol beside it. The attraction to drink is irresistible with a gentle approach to its swirl of black cherry and spice flavours, the palate smoothly rubbed towards a faint gastronomic bitters note in the finish. Plenty of backbone, yet eternally soft-hearted.
