Dean Hewitson has been mucking about with Carignan and Cinsault for a few years now but in 2022 decided to co-ferment them with Shiraz, and importantly incorporating 60% whole bunch, whole berries and stalks. So, there’s a bit of Pinot making in it. It has a spicy berry aroma with a plush medium body and rather elegant palate. Fine sinewy tannins cut through the fleshy fruit providing balance and structure. The oak is beautifully handled to snuggly sit within.
