Hirsch Hill Reserve Chardonnay 2024

Although only bottled a few weeks before tasting, this wine was showing remarkably well. It comes from the best block off the vineyard and after handpicking it was initially fermented and then matured in large format French oak. It did not go through malolactic fermentation, so there is a penetrating acid which is perfectly aligned with the power of the fruit. Rich honey and roasted cashew with a mealy stone fruit richness. There is real power here. Excellent wine.
