Jean-Paul et Charly Thévenet Morgon 2018

Share

So bright, so fresh, so drinkable – it’s like Summer in a glass and then some. While Morgon might be home to the most dense wines from Beaujolais this wine turns that on its head thanks to its beautiful array of gently aromatic fruits – dark cherry and cranberry are given a leg up thanks to stalky, spicy and earthy complexity with old oak sitting pretty. The palate is then bright and lively with granite and aged meat flavours now joining red fruits with the only suggestion of Morgon coming from some firmish tannins. Great energy and length rounds out a super-drinkable package that will be delicious over the next three to five years.
