Jericho Fumé Blanc 2025

There are fumés and there’s fumés. And some can get a bit carried away with the introduction of excessive oak. In this case, it’s been neatly handled and controlled to complement rather than dominate the essential, vibrant tropical fruits of the variety. Adelaide Hills is well-suited to Sauvignon Blanc. And this one has emerged really well. It has a crisp acidity, and just that combination of toasty-creamy oak and the vibrant fresh fruit works so well. Fumé styles can often be cellared, but this, quite frankly, is a wine I’d prefer to drink over the next couple of years.
