John Duval Wines Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre 2019

Share

2019 was a dry and warm vintage in the Barossa dragging quantity down to create intense and focussed wines. The vintage is on show here with tarry, dark berry fruits with attractive layers of ground spices, dried herbs, and even some Bay leaf and white pepper. Shiraz fruit from Krondorf on the border with the Eden Valley is adding some delicacy to what is a sturdy red. The palate is then dry and punchy with a powerful core of red and dark fruits, underscored by drying warm vintage tannins. There is richness matched with grace, with fruit just tailing off on the finish. Good aging potential here.
