This is a wine that is part of Juniper’s ‘have a crack at anything’ range. In other words, the winemaking team get a chance to go crazy. It’s a blend of 5 clones, mostly Tempranillo with small additions of Graciano and Petit Verdot off the Karridale vineyard. A feature is the balance of oak and fruit, the result of no new oak being used. There’s a typical Tempranillo rustic aroma which pokes into the palate. Bright red fruits then emerge with a slight chalky tannin control. Finishes dry and slightly chalky, which makes it an ideal food wine.
