Juniper Cornerstone Karridale Chardonnay 2019

Share

This is part of a new Juniper range with the fruit sourced from Karridale at the Higher Plane vineyard further to the south of Margaret River town. The 100% Gingin clone was handpicked in small batches and then whole bunch pressed to barrel for wild fermentation. It then had 10 months on lees but there was no malolactic fermentation with the aim of preserving the bright, crunchy crispness of the fruit. This cooler subregion has such an impact resulting in wines of finesse and textural feel that is so distinctive. There’s a creamy chalky mix on the nose here with subtle cereal and grapefruit nuances leading to a lovely dry savoury finish. A classy wine that captures what this vineyard and subregion are all about.
