Kaesler Old Vine Semillon 2023

Share

Sourced from the last remaining rows of single vineyard Semillon planted in 1961. Fermented in tank. Granny smith apples and green pear skin. White Lilies of the Valley, blue tac and pumice stone. Self raising flour, lime pith and star fruit. Elongated acidity line with a real weighty apple flavour. This is quite powerful with the delicacy of lace and fine white flowers. It snapped up by its low alcohol and slinky frame and finishes taut and fresh. It’s clear there is respect for this site and a deliberate affection to show the purity of old vine Semillon. Drinking well now and will age gracefully over the next 10-15 years or more. A wine for plump scallops or delicate sauteed oyster mushrooms in garlic.
