Style-wise, this wine is on the cusp of Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris. Which is to say that it shares both grigio (citrus and bright acidity) and gris (pear, spice and texture) characteristics. Subtle scents of apple, honeysuckle, citrus with a hint of pear. There is a tight core of beautiful fruit waiting to expand on the palate, it’s early days, but the promise is there embracing ginger cream, spice, pear skin, lemon, honeysuckle against a background of firm acidity. The finish is long. You can sense the spice-led components are building, as is the texture, which will, in time, move it into solid gris territory. Delicious.
