Kin by Alkina Grenache Rose 2021

This is a fascinating little wine that intrigues and teases before delivering a knockout punch. Pale pink in colour, it opens with watermelon and white strawberry aromas with sweet fresh raspberry in there too plus a little earthy touch. It then grows in the mouth with a textural feel and more savoury, pithy fruits. There’s a real Southern Rhone richness here, almost like a Bandol or Tavel, that you don’t often see in Australia that helps to drive it through to a long, mouth-filling finish. It’s a serious rosè that has the power to match up to grilled chicken with an avocado salsa.
