King’s Creed Shiraz 2020

A stunning value McLaren Vale Shiraz, fermentation was in open fermenters and finished in oak, 80% French and the remainder American, 35% of this new. Dark maroon hue, the nose gives us notes of dry herbs, chocolate, cloves, animal skins, coffee grinds, spices and black fruits. It is slightly rustic, which will appeal to many. There is good intensity throughout, as the wine lifts even further on the palate and the flavours continue to emerge – it really steps up. There is fine acidity and silky tannins with impressive length to enjoy now and for the next eight years. Seriously good value.
