Mazi Mataro Cinsault Grenache Rosé 2021

Share

It is great to see more and more rosés like this coming out that are not shy on flavour, which makes them infinitely more flexible when its comes to food matching. It’s a classic Southern Rhone blend here with cinsault playing a role – there should be more of it. Pale onion skin pink before the raspberry and watermelon fruits come thick and fast with an undercurrent of apricot, and a dusting of warm earth. Mataro makes its presence felt on the palate with a fullish body and firm acidity plus some savoury, earthy complexity. There is surprising fruit power which dives through to a long finish. Match it up with a mediterranean mezze platter.
