Knappstein Shiraz 2023

An absolutely cracking Clare Valley Shiraz here, the fruit is from estate vineyards in the north of the Valley. The vines supplying the fruit are approaching their 40^th birthday. This is a serious contender for one of the best value wines of the year, and has really transcended what is generally considered a slightly difficult vintage. A gleaming garnet in hue, this has such a gorgeous nose, hinting of the lushness to come. We have notes of chocolate, dried herbs, graphite, aniseed and black fruits. The wine is concentrated, balanced, seamless and seductive with serious length. There are fine powdery tannins to finish and the wine will provide pleasure for the next ten to twelve years.
