De Bortoli La Bohème Syrah Gamay 2024

Red toffee apple, lolly frogs and cannabis leaf.  Black cherry pit, crushed beetle and tar. Crunchy and candied, this wine shows the cordial sweetness and perfume that Gamay can deliver with the blackberry weight of Syrah. Acidity is at an all time high, indicating that this could benefit from a deep fried sweet and sour pork dish, or something fatty and smokey like BBQ chicken pizza. A chillable style but in winter straight from the depths of the cool pantry is fine.
