Lark Hill Sangiovese 2023

Fruit is from the certified biodynamic Dark Horse Vineyard in Murrumbateman. A mix of Mat6 and Coriole clone, with 30% whole bunches and remaining fruit crushed over the top. This really benefits from a swift decant to allow all the lofty red cherries, pomegranate seed and wild raspberry to come forth. There is togarashi, oregano and pickled plum with a welter weight of acidity and granular tannins that lead the palate to new heights of textural wonder. Cherry roll ups and brittle brown bark with a hint of amaro bitters. A fascinating wine that punches well about its price tag. Built for drinking now or in 3-6 years further, this would make a pasta Aglio e olio with extra chillis a weeknight hit.
