Coonawarra Cabernet in a good season. Oh yeah. This is a generous and powerful Cabernet that captures the season. The colour is incredibly deep, but there’s a brilliant luminosity about it. The nose is so typically blackcurrant and other black fruits with some light floral lifts. So appealing. The palate delivers tremendous grunt and power with the deep black fruits, firmish chalky supporting tannins and a liberal dose of oak to harness all that unbridled power. It’s a wine that’s just begun its journey and has so many years ahead of it. This is what Coonawarra Cabernet can be all about.
