Leconfield Coonawarra D.G.R. Cabernet Shiraz 2022

Share

If you were expecting the wine’s initials to represent some prestigious, early Leconfield pioneer, you would be wrong. It’s a little more down to earth than that, indeed, it’s a Damn Good Red! It is a suitably appropriate title for a wine rich and warm in both scent and flavour and all- round comforting in its appeal. Aromas come in warm, toasty charry oak and spices, blackberry, cassis, black plum, acacia and earth. Boasts an unctuous, expressive palate based on a layer of tannin that is both understated and yet firm. Plenty of peppery spice and ripe black and blue fruits with chocolate, briar and dried leaves adding an autumnal warm feel. It’s a damn good red for enjoying now or for further ageing which is a damn good each way bet.
