Leeuwin Estate Prelude Margaret River Chardonnay 2023

The pedigree of Margaret River Chardonnay shows through in the quality of fruit.  It moves clean and fast, almost in a hurry to reveal its bounty of clean, pure lemon and grapefruit with glimpses of white peach, lemon balm and almond meal. It’s busy and citrus-intense against a background of gentle texture. The oak spice and creaminess noted in its more expensive Art Series sibling is turned down here in order to allow for an earlier, fruit-led drinking window.
