Maretti Taglia Pinot Grigio 2019

Super smart package for this wine which comes from the Grave del Friuli in North-Eastern Italy. The altitude in the area helps to make serious versions of Italian pinot grigio. What makes them standout is the brightness and freshness of their fruit compared to the wines from further south.

Pale in colour the wine is quite exotic with its pear, floral and even guava fruits – it certainly starts with a bang. In the mouth it is then juicy with a creamy texture tightened up by crisp acidity and finishing with a savoury Italian edge. Lots to like here, especially if matched with antipasti.
