Stubborn flinty reduction dominates initially, before stepping aside to reveal cashew nut, brine, grapefruit, white pear and lemon pith. The nose is chiselled, taut and mineral-driven—attributes that carry seamlessly through to the palate. Flint, just-ripe pear, green apple skin and lemon pith mirror the aromatics, before brine-drenched acidity takes charge, pulling the wine long and linear, supported by gentle chalky phenolic grip. It’s the acidity that ultimately endures, delivering a close of crystalline freshness and verve. Incontrovertibly modern in style. The reduction needs time to fully settle and integrate, but the trajectory here is very promising.
