Sourced from Marnong Estate’s highest vineyard. Charming in its restrained perfume of violets, red rose, red and dark cherry, sweet spice — clove, ground nutmeg, mace — with potpourri-like notes entering with air. A wine of both complexity and restraint that speaks volumes through hushed tones, a trait carrying through to the palate. Raspberry, mashed strawberry and dark cherry intermingle with nutmeg and earth before ripples of finespun, chalky tannins provide frame and carry. Lithe and lifted with a satin-like texture. A wash of lovely fruit competes with some cocoa powder bitterness through a finish of good length. Class and elegance on full display — a lovely release.
