Mezzacorona Castel Firmian Teroldego Rotaliano Superiore Reserva 2022

Share

Teroldego is a variety indigenous to the northeast regions of Italy. There are a couple of local examples, but they are few and far between, so if you want to see what this variety can do, you really need to go to the source. This one sees twelve months maturation in French oak barrels. Under Diam. The colour is a vibrant yet opaque maroon. The nose reveals notes of blackberries, black cherries, coffee beans, chocolate, dried herbs and bay leaves. The wine is fresh, of medium weight and with juicy flavours, through to fine, powdery tannins. There is good length here and the wine can be enjoyed anytime over the next decade. Lots to like. Very much worth exploring.
