Small Victories Sangiovese 2024

Share

The Small Victories Wine Co team continues to craft a smart and vibrant range of wines, balancing freshness with a modern edge—all while keeping sustainability and climate change in mind. The 2024 Sangiovese is sourced from the southeastern slopes of the Macclesfield Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, a slightly warmer site within the region. Open fermentation and maturation in seasoned French oak puncheons shape the wine beautifully. On the nose, vibrant aromas of sour cherry, cola, sweet baking spices, and festive orange peel leap from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, showcasing a classic interplay of red and black cherries, structured yet approachable tannins, and a savoury touch of cocoa bitterness. Sangiovese’s signature bright, almost briny acidity makes it one of the most food-friendly wines around—perfectly suited to a pairing with Osso Bucco and creamy mashed potatoes.
