Monterra Fleurieu Series Cabernets 2018

Share

This Mike Farmilo made cabernet blend – 66% cabernet sauvignon, 32% cabernet franc and 2% petit Verdot – is noted as Fleurieu Peninsula sourced, and in this case Currency Creek more specifically. Its mild, maritime climatic influence fosters unmistakeable cabernet leafiness in the sage and olive leaf part of the spectrum, maybe even some tobacco notes as well. Under all this aromatic swirl, the fruit sits quietly waiting its turn, while the varietal tannins of its lead players play toward prominence given the wine’s medium bodied styling.
