Peppery spice is a long running and attractive feature of this Clare Valley Shiraz. Deep crimson-purple hues. Lifted aromatic spices to the fore on the bouquet in anise, liquorice and black pepper circling black cherries, plum and cocoa. Sweet fruited, ripe and sultry with plenty of nuance to discover on the palate. Feels cool climate in style – that peppery spice does the job well in league with a fine tannin presence – and there is an enduring freshness to the wine delivered through clean cherry fruits and plums. The role of oak – 18 months in French barriques – ties all components together with a high degree of elegance. Can look forward to a long life ahead.
