Cherry blossom melds with hazelnut in a bright though coiled aromatic opening, before air unlocks deeper notes of dark cherry, dust, raspberry, autumn leaves, tar, dried florals and balsamic. Quite a journey as the aromas unfurl. There’s a lovely burst of dried cranberry and dark cherry leading the palate, supported by nutmeg, balsamic, red rose and tar. Powdery cranberry laced tannins are firm but somewhat integrated at this young age, working with juicy acidity to provide a lovely frame on which long length carries. A little more wiry than others in the 2021 stable, but excellent all the same.
